BRYAN, Tex. – The Brazos Valley Council of Alcohol and Substance Abuse is holding a town hall meeting on May 23 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting be held in the Student Center at Blinn College.
The town hall will be about prescription drug abuse with a focus on opiates and opiate abuse.
There will be a panel comprised of members of BVCASA, Health and Human Services Commission, both College Station and Bryan Police Departments, a pharmacologist, a pharmacist, and a member of the Brazos County Health Department. The panel will address what they know about opiates, how they are affecting the community, and ways to prevent abuse.
After the panel has provided their information, the audience will have a chance to ask questions.
A few prizes will also be given away at the end of the event at random.
The event is free and open to the public.
